Job summary:

The Program Director is the lead for all projects and program related activities in CPHD. Working closely with the Executive team, Senior Management Team and all the relevant stakeholders, the Program Director is expected to successfully ensure effective management of donor funded projects while driving the program to sustainability through leveraging on the existing organizational structures to cover operational costs that are not directly grant funded and mentoring teams on cost effective
grant management practices. The role will also deputize the Executive Director.

The role requires an experienced and dynamic individual with first hand international development experience of over 5 years, international donor expertise and highly developed writing and communication skills. The role is varied and offers the opportunity to develop internal and country specific donor strategies, engage donor representatives, lead project designs including teaming and support in developing first class proposals and budgets to build internal capacity.

Job summary:

Working under the direct supervision of the Programmes Director, this role is responsible for offering technical and operational support to all projects implemented by CPHD and also in partnership with other stakeholders’ projects with CPHD while ensuring CPHD and donor expectations requirements and timelines are achieved. The role is also to ensure that systems and mechanisms for excellent data collection are embedded across all projects, that all research, monitoring and evaluation meets excellent standards (including ethics and accuracy) and meets CPHD’s needs for information on a macro and micro level; that relevant and timely research is conducted that furthers the strategic effectiveness of CPHD’s operations; and that information on which resource mobilisation rests is available and accurate. It is a Senior Management Role.

Analyst – Commercial Forestry Programme

Job summary:

The Analyst role will form a key role in the Private Sector Investments’ team. This team is responsible for designing and implementing sector-level interventions to unlock new investments at scale in Kenya and Uganda’s commercial forestry sectors, with a focus on wood processing and high-employment downstream industries such as furniture and joinery, and construction. The Analyst will play a key role supporting/ leading the exploration of opportunities in the construction sector. The construction sector is the largest consumer of wood and given the underlying drivers of high population growth and urbanisation in East Africa, presents a huge opportunity to create a market demand pull at scale for sustainable wood, and in turn drive investments across the commercial forestry value chain.

The Analyst will have the opportunity to support the development and implementation of a new strategy to see increased uptake of sustainable timber in the built environment. Responsibilities will range from undertaking analysis to identify high potential growth opportunities, designing surveys and studies, packaging evidence into thought leadership to influence stakeholders, and engaging a broad range of private and public sector actors.
